The story came out quite dark, but dynamic and, in my opinion, fascinating. It is based on an idea that came to me about the driving force of chemical evolution: an idea that I liked so much that I wrote this story.

The attentive reader will find in the story a mention of the kidnapping of the two children of the Emperor; these children are none other than the newborn (then) Hayate and her older brother Kael. More about their abduction is told in the story "rock base".
