This is one of the best stories I've ever seen, especially from the Dictators series.

The Dictators series is generally one of my favorite series. and it’s always a pleasure to receive such gifts from the author. Thank you very much for that. It’s very well written, and for an adult, however, in my opinion, the ending is somewhat jagged... the style of presentation is impressive, I couldn’t put it down - I read it avidly.

What can I say . Well written. Atmospheric. Lots of pianos. And of course, not without anger. The author somehow managed to avoid some nuances before, but now he plunged into them. Why the attack towards Shumila? Stupid. I was amused by the phrase said by the dragon, “You can starve me, you can shoot me, but I won’t eat intelligent creatures.” and literally after a while “I ate a man. I was not in a state to remember morality. I needed to survive and find my jailers. At any cost.” What a quick change of priorities, what a magnificent passage about one’s own value 😉 five points. Another dirty, vulgar, evil piece of Hell escaped from the writer’s soul. And if THIS is exactly how the story about dictators should end... then it’s time to bury Lockhart. Peace to his ashes.

I am very glad that the idea was not abandoned and a new book appeared. I will read it with great anticipation.

Perfect!!! A wonderful book. You read it and don’t notice how it ends. A good continuation for the series... I really liked it. I hope this won't be the last book in Dictators. =)

There was such a fuss around the original KV (what was the essence of the conflict, I still don’t understand) that, unable to resist, I searched for the original for half a day.
What can I say. The original (especially compared to other books) seems like complete crap. It's annoying that the dragons, in their quest for revenge, have actually sunk to the level of their enemies. Dragons, who for generations knew the word “war” only from history books, have become the largest stronghold of militarism in the galaxy. The dragons, who fell into a state of shock at the sight of senseless cruelty, competed to see who could kill more “macaques” (those people behaved similarly, but this is not about them). Wing, the galaxy's premier peacemaker, has become the galaxy's best executioner. If the book was supposed to be anti-war, then it failed: only one pole was shown, the pole of the avenging dragons. Throughout the entire book they did not even give us any reason to doubt the correctness of their methods.
The new book is kinder, and, in general, turned out better than the original.
Everything would be perfect if not for two “buts”. This is the reason the war started, and the reason it was prevented. I won’t go into details, spoilers are the eighth deadly sin (I apologize for the spoilers on the original, but there was no other way), I’ll just say that the first was frankly far-fetched, while the second became deus ex machina.
However, rewriting books, especially ones that were ten years old, is generally a thankless task. Worldviews change a lot over time, and rebuilding something is always an order of magnitude more difficult than creating it from scratch. And if you redo something from the middle... It’s like taking apart one wall during renovation. The chance that everything will collapse is dangerously high.
